First Alert Traffic: Rockslide blocking portion of key highway on Maui

MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) – A rockslide is blocking a portion of a key highway on Maui, the state Department of Transportation posted on social media Tuesday morning.
Both lanes of Honoapiilani Highway at mile marker 36, in the vicinity of Honokohau Bay, were blocked off.
Around 9 a.m., DOT sent out an update saying that one lane was cleared and crews are working to clear the rockslide from the other lane.
There’s no timeline of when the road will be reopened.
